April to September
Southern swell in the southern winter. A clean morning before the wind is the one you want.
Worth knowing.
- 1. Watch a set from the shore. The reef is shallower than the postcard.
- 2. This is not a beach-break holiday. The lagoon beaches are a different day.
- 3. Winter is the window. The rest of the year can still have a morning if the pulse is in.
- 4. Saint-Pierre and Saint-Denis are the bigger towns. Saint-Leu is the one on the wave.
