Indicators, Manu Bay
Lefts around a volcanic point on the west coast of the North Island. Raglan is Indicators, Manu Bay, and Whale Bay, not one peak. The town is still a town with a harbour and a lot of campervans. The wave is the reason the vans are there.
When.
May to August
Southwest swell in winter. East or southeast wind is the offshore.

Worth knowing.
- 1. Manu Bay is the easy look from the car park. Indicators is around the point. Whale Bay is the longer walk.
- 2. A southwest swell with an east or southeast offshore is the classic. Winter is when that happens most.
- 3. The rips along the point are real. If you get dragged, come in and walk back. Do not fight the whole bay.
Go.
Before you paddle.
- 1. Check local conditions before entering
- 2. Always surf with a buddy
- 3. Know your limits and skill level
- 4. Watch for rip currents
- 5. Respect local surfers and rules
