The break.
Beach breakBeginnerTourist friendly
A long beach south of Lisbon. This is where PerfectWavees started. Not a famous barrel. A working beach break with peaks for days, cheap coffee, and the city twenty minutes behind you. Beginner water on a small day. A real Atlantic beach when the swell is up.
When.
September to March
Autumn and winter Atlantic swell. Summer is smaller.
Worth knowing.
- 1. The beach is long. Drive or walk until you find a quieter peak. The main access gets busy in summer.
- 2. Autumn and winter bring the real swell. Summer is smaller, warmer, still a session if you know the bank.
- 3. CDS and the southern access points are less of a zoo than the main drag on a weekend.
Go.
Before you paddle.
- 1. Check local conditions before entering
- 2. Always surf with a buddy
- 3. Know your limits and skill level
- 4. Watch for rip currents
- 5. Respect local surfers and rules
